We are all born into duality. The masculine, the feminine. The Self, the self. The physical, the spiritual. This duality is necessary for us to achieve our best, our most complete being. Occasionally, we allow outside influences to interfere - we begin to shift in one direction or another. And so begins a teeter totter struggle. A constant shifting of weights as our inner spark struggles to regain balance. Before we were born, there was a knowing that could not be denied. A fundamental truth that was ours. As we grew up we began to look outward for acceptance. We began to doubt our own being. We began to wander away from our true center. And the center became further away as each cycle began again and new generations were formed. We are at a time where the cycles have reached the furthest possible point as they begin the journey to drawing closer to center. There is great upheaval in the globe. It’s no mistake that finding North assisted the ancients in their travels. I have often been fascinated by the ancients and their understanding of the celestial and the physical world. They understood mysteries without the aid of our technological advances. Yet, with all of our technology it would seem that we are more lost than they ever were. Finding North has many different meanings. To find True North is to find a line on the surface of the Earth pointing to the geographical location of the North Pole. Magnetic North is the direction a compass points to the magnetic North Pole. Astronomical North is the route marked by the Celestial North Pole. Studying these various methods of finding North, I can’t help but draw a comparison to decisions we make in our every day lives. We each seek answers to our questions. What decision should I make?
